Birds of a feather

Image
I am so incredibly lucky to live where I do and just recently there has been so many birds around my home, which is in the middle of suburbia but surrounded by lots of trees, so the camera has been getting a bit of a workout. Hope you enjoy looking at the following pics as much as I enjoyed taking them.  Thanks for looking, hugs and love  Annette xo

Latest Challenge at Orange Paperie and Co

Image
Just recently I posted an amazing challenge at http://orangepaperieandco.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/september-challenge.html and while it is truly amazing it is also a lot of fun. I created a recipe and then had to scrap a page for it, I don't tend to think these things through carefully sometimes, basically just go that sounds like a great idea, let's do that and then it's ooh now I have to do it. The end result was a page I really love, gorgeous pic of my three cheeky nephews and lots of fun embellies from the Boys only Embellie kit at my2angels http://www.my2angels.net/p/7551/Boys-ONLY-Embellishment-Kit.html . The products and colours were just perfect and really made the page come alive. The recipe is 1 black and white pic ribbon chippy/s inking distressing and a two word title    and here is my page                         I used an old copy of Tom Sawyer for the banner and behind the pic, while the pages were oldish lo

It's been a while

Yes I know, my bad, have let my blog fall by the wayside again, but I am back and would love to share this page that I completed recently for the September Challenge at my2angels. http://www.my2angels.net/s/88/Monthly-Challenge.html The brief was to use Black, White and one other colour with the majority of the products used to be from my2angels. Easy as I totally love and adore the embellie kits that Tracy has created and have purchased quite a few of them in the past. All the embellies on this page are from the first ever kit (excluding the washi tape and butterflies) I bought and which were absolutely perfect for this pic. The alphas were part of the kit and I used some dimensional magic, which I purchased from the shop to add a bit of shine to them. Loved how this page turned out, first time I have played with hexagonals and am really pleased with the effect. Anyway that's it for now, will be back soon to share some more pages, until then, hugs and love Annette xo

Brissy Expo or On the road again (Part I)

Image
Well the gorgeous Miss Kim has certainly done an awesome job of documenting our recent trip to Brissy for the Scrapbooking and Papercraft Expo, so, it is time for me to give you all my version, not that much different from hers but just as fun. We started off on a freezing morning at the Orange Railway Station, thankfully the coach was there early so we didn't have to stand around waiting for it. After what was a long day of sitting around we arrived in the gorgeous warmth of Qld, found our Hotel, within walking distance of the Roma Street Railway, bonus. Dumped our gear and found 325 on George just around the corner and had a great steak, chip and salad meal, best thing was that we sat outside, wow it was great. Not too early Friday morning we ventured back to 325 on George for brekkie, snapped this pic to show the gorgeous day and super tall buildings surrounding us. This was our home away from home for the time we were up there, The Explorers Inn, can't say that I

Mogo Zoo

Image
How amazing was Mogo Zoo, so enjoyed my time there and saw some of the most incredible, cute, and downright scarey animals. Started with this very sleepy Bengal Tiger, look at the size of those paws.  It was quite a warm day and some of the animals were really feeling the heat, this little one was out for the count. Because all the animals are in cages, were I could I managed to get my camera through the links to get some pretty cool pics. I did have a pic of this big boy and his lady "together" may have to put that up another time. This tiger really unnerved me while I was taking his pic, his eyes were staring straight at me, didn't look away, very freaky. This little Red Panda was a bit more active and what a sweet little face. The pygmy Marmosets are without double the tiniest little monkeys I have ever seen, omg they are so gorgeous. My all time fav critter at the Zoo are the Meerkats, I had hoped to do an encounter with them but, unfortunately got there too

My South Coast Escape

Image
Wow what an amazing time I am having so far, been in Kiama for two and a half days now, so not looking forward to when I have to leave. Started the trip by visiting my oldest and dearest friend Anne in Goulburn, it has been two years since I saw her last so we had a really lovely time. The view from her back yard is really lovely, at night you can see the lights of the city. Drove down to Fitzroy Falls from her place, only took an hour to get there, the last time I was there it was in a drought and hardly any water was over the falls, wow what a difference now. some cool fungi Japanese tourist took this shot of me after I took one of his group. lots of walking, stairs, mud, fun played around with hipstamatic on my iphone and got some pretty awesome effects, this is one of the twin falls. Got to Kiama at about  2ish, really busy as there was the Jazz and Blues festival on, so people everywhere, this was my first pic of the ocean, taken near the harbour. Heap

Handmade Xmas Cards and Tags

Image
I love making Xmas cards and sending them to people I know will not only enjoy but also appreciate the effort that goes into making them. It can be a pretty time consuming job and even with all the best intentions in the world I always seem to leave it to the last minute..............but NOT this year. With all my xmas stuff still out I put it to Mary and Kim that instead of doing our normal scrapping every second weekend perhaps we could make a start on our cards for this year, of course they saw the amazing logic behind it soooo we had a few saturdays of making cards and tags. I would like to share with you some that I made and let you know some techniques that I used. This couldn't be more simple (pinched the idea from the gorgeous Miss Kim) just small squares of pp, inked and placed on the card, I kept the embellies pretty simple, metal tags I have had forever, pieces of snowflake ribbon from http://www.craftqueen.com.au/index.php and small white Kaiser flowers that I spent
