When I say this gorgeous picture of Noelene on the Boxx I totally fell in love with it and knew that I wanted to scrap it. Then when I saw Kathie's take on TCR #29 I knew that I had to scraplift it. I so enjoyed creating this page, the large hearts were hand cut while the smaller ones were punched. I made the clouds the same way as the large hearts and the kite was made from two scraps of pp and some thin ribbon was perfect for the tails. The cute little owl button is from Purple Pumpkin. I used Black Cherry Glimmer Mist and Making Memories Green Mist as well as a Tattered Angel mask. I was so pleased to hear that Noelene liked it, made it all worthwhile.

I was so pleased with the way that this page turned out. It is a page celebrating and relaying how I felt about turning 50. The journalling is on the tag behind my pics and reads as follows - What is is about turning 50 that seems to freak some people out? I LOVED IT. Is it because it can be a time for you to take stock of your life & maybe you don't like what you see? NOT ME. Do you look back at the last 50 years of your life & wonder what you have done & where has it gone? OF COURSE YOU DO. You wouldn't be human if you didn't, but hello it's gone. Look at today & plan for tomorrow. LIFE TRULY IS BEAUTIFUL. LIVE IT. I have been very privileged to have this page picked as the layout of the week at The Boxx and as well won the fortnightly challenge. What a blast life is truly beautiful booyah!

one more day to go

Image
Well i have only today left to go before i go back to work, should i do all the jobs i have left or just scrap, hard choice. Here are some los that i did this week, cheers Annette This is my younger brother Jeff, there is only one year and 11 days between us so we have always been pretty close. He travelled from Qld for my birthday, got here the Friday before the dinner, I drove to Lithgow and picked him up, and he left on Wed 13th. Anne, myself and Kate have been friends for more years than i can remember so having them at my dinner was one of the best gifts i received. I knew that Anne would be there but had no idea that Kate was even in town. This page was my Challenge on the Boxx in the Group Scrappers Challenge. It was a recipe challenge, one photo, two ribbons, three pps, four flowers, five buttons and six lines journalling.

My 50th

Image
My 50th Birthday dinner was just fantastic and made even more so having my brother Jeff there beside along with two really old friends that I haven't seen for quite a while. Everyone seemed to have a fantastic time and there was lots of laughter. Cake was just yummy huge thanx to Richard for getting it for me, enjoyed it for a few days after. Heaps of really awesome pressies including one that involved a whip and a remote control????

My fav site is down

Image
The Boxx which is one of my most fav sites has been down for two days now and i am having serious withdrawals. Here is my latest page lo for the Scrappers Challenge group on the Boxx, criteria was to do a lo of your dream man/hottie but it couldn't be a significant other. I did Sean Connery first but knew that I would have to do Brad Pitt, what a hottie, phew, enjoy.

Richard and I drove to Bathurst yesterday, had breakfast at the Acropole and then he took me to Skin Fantasy to have these tattoos done. The black heart is the existing one that I had on my left wrist and I had added to it the two roses, red because my father liked red roses, black because it not only symbolises death but absence. I had Carpe Diem put onto the inside of my right wrist as to me seems like a fantastic way to live your life and is something that i need to be reminded of.

Newest pics of Phoenix

Image
Thought I would share some pics of the lovely little Phoenix, took these yesterday so they are really current, she is just over 4 months old now and weighs 600grams, when she reaches 700 she will have a little op. She is so adorable and such a joy to have around. I am totally besotted with her and really love playing with her. Cheers all xo

Wedding Card

Image
JOHNO and CARRIES CARD I really don't make cards very often but a fellow team member is being married tomorrow on the beach at Foster, sigh. I have a lot of time and respect for Johno so I wanted to make a card that reflected their love of the ocean plus have a little bit of a wedding feel to it. This is what I came up with The paper is metallic blue in two shades, I used surgical gauze to imitate the netting as well as bird netting and silver mesh ribbon. A white feather and pearls for a wedding feel and shells to continue the beach theme For the inside I look for ages to find just the right words, I have heard the way he speaks of Carrie with so much love and wanted something that I believed would mean something to them both and this is what I found, i t is a quote by Judy Garland from the book Rapture - everyday moments of bliss.

Fun day

Well after the absolutely miserable day we had yesterday it was so nice to see the sun shining, still a cold wind but so much better. Bec and Kat came over tonight and we all had pizza and played the Wii, I like bowling but suck at baseball and tennis, we all had a lot of fun. Day off tomorrow yay, getting my nails done, few groceries and might try to get some scrapping done.

It snowed today, not for very long and didn't settle as it was too wet but still it was snow. I was at work and took some pics so here they are -

Latest lo

Image
It's been a while since i have done any scrapping. Finished my lo for the Scrapping Whisper at the Boxx but can't post that yet. Here is one that i did of my oldest and youngest neices Clohe and Shelby. I took the pic when i visited in March. Really liked how this page turned out, the purples look so pretty and played quilling to make the little teardrops.

Phoenix

Image
Off work for a few days as i am not real well, don't think i will get any scrapping done, don't have the energy all i want to do is sleep. This little cutie is Phoenix, she is a doe female ferret that my son purchased on Sunday, wasn't real keen on the idea but she is growing on me.

The latest

Image
Really don't have a huge amount to say. Worked over the Anzac weekend and pub hol, today off and caught up with Mary for coffee at the cafe on Nile Street, first time there and it was lovely. Gorgeous sitting in the sun and chatting, bit of shopping and home to wash, scrap and then cook dinner. Back at work tomorrow and fri but weekend off. Cheers

Weekend happenings

Image
Well all up this weekend i have been pretty laid back. Usual breakfast with Richard yesterday morning and scrapped with Robyn in the afternoon. Today mad sleepin, read the paper and went for a walk around the botanical gardens, suprisingly very quiet, i thought seeing as how it was a beautiful and sunny day there would have been more people around and then spent the rest of the afternoon scrapbooking. Back to work tomorrow and really must tidy up the house when i get home, bit of a mess.

Very Sad

My gorgeous 11 year cat Red is dead, as I was walking to the car yesterday (Australia Day) to go to work I found him on the front lawn, his poor little throat and chest had been ripped open. I miss him so much, he wasn't just a pet he thought he was a furry little people and had a personality to match. We buried him under a shrub that he liked to lay under. RIP Red you are missed.
